About
I'm Ami Iwakami. I help product companies redesign how their teams actually work in the AI era — and I've spent my career on every side of that problem.
I built Arias Work because I kept seeing the same thing from the inside: companies brilliant at strategy, and strangely stuck when it came to translating it into how teams actually work. The plan was sound. The slides were good. But the roles, the hand-offs, and the daily decisions never quite caught up.
AI has made that gap impossible to ignore. The tools change overnight; orgs change over years. Handled well, that tension is one of the biggest opportunities a leadership team has right now — to give people back their most senior work, and to build a structure that fits how the work is really done.
I started in consulting — strategy and org design at PwC — where I learned the rigour that still underpins everything I do. Then I crossed to the operator's side, building and leading people functions inside product companies, owning the messy reality that a slide deck never captures. And I co-founded an AI product, which means I'm not theorising about how AI changes work — I've lived it, shipped it, and felt where it breaks.
I'm based in Singapore and work across APAC and beyond. I move between English, Japanese, and Spanish, and I've spent most of my career crossing industries, countries, and disciplines. I think that mix is exactly what makes the work better — org problems are rarely tidy, and they're rarely solved from one vantage point.
Strategy & org-design rigour from consulting. Hands-on people-operations experience from inside product companies. A real, builder's fluency in how AI changes work. And depth across APAC markets, with native Japanese. Most people have one of these. The work happens where all four meet.
